Jun 11, Kathmandu - Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) parliamentary party leader Gyanendra Shahi has accused the Finance Minister of lying to the parliamentary committee on the customs tax evasion case.
Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting held on Thursday, he accused the Finance Minister of lying to the parliamentary committee on the customs tax evasion case and demanded an immediate investigation.
He said, "We had tied a green ribbon in favor of good governance, we had also protested, and we had also demanded an investigation committee. But this chair of power is wonderful, everything is forgotten when you move from one place to another. The Finance Minister has lied to the parliamentary committee on the customs tax evasion issue. The committee did not demand it out of greed. It is not that the Finance Minister will not be allowed to work."
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has been accused of repeatedly raising tax rates and leaking information after making the economic bill public along with the budget.
In this regard, Finance Minister Wagle, while appearing in the Finance Committee meeting on Wednesday, claimed that he had not introduced the appropriated bill.
